Storrowton Village Museum, an educational arm of Eastern States Exposition and located on its grounds in West Springfield, Massachusetts. It presents hands-on school programs and guided tours of its historic buildings throughout the year as well as seasonal 19th century-themed events. It is the site of the Storrowton Tavern/Carriage House and Storrowton Village Museum Gift Shop and is a picturesque, popular site for weddings held in its Meetinghouse and Gazebo.
Created by Helen Osborne Sorrow starting in 1927 with the purchase of a farmstead for $200 and moving it from West Brookfield, Massachusetts. After that, additional antique buildings were purchased, dismantled, and reconstructed here to create Storrowton Village. Each year Storrowton Village Museum presents its Yuletide event mid-December.
The winter festival brings the community together to celebrate the season with traditional Yuletide activities, entertainment, and shopping in the historic Village. Decorated through the generosity of area garden clubs, florists and designers, the Village buildings are bursting with innovative and original ideas to turn your home into a holiday wonderland. Tour the buildings to find beautiful wreaths, swags, garlands, fresh evergreens and all-natural materials around every corner. The event features ice sculpting, 19th-century trades, and livestock demonstrations, and a chance to visit with Santa. There is a family craft area to make-your-own holiday ornament and grab a hot beverage or treat from the Holiday Sweet Shoppe.
