Architectural Quick Stop ~ Visiting the Frederick C. Robie House on the campus of the University of Chicago in the neighborhood of Hyde Park in Chicago, Illinois can be a quick excursion to view one of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s designed homes.
This National Historic Landmark was built between 1909 and 1910 as a family home for Frederick and his wife Lora Hieronymus Robie. The home is considered one of the best examples of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School design, the first architectural style considered uniquely American. The Robie House has limited hours of operation and does conduct tours but it’s best to check availability on their website.
